Why is it that when searching for a file sometimes there is a breadcrumb at the bottom of the Finder window and sometimes there is not? I'm using Ventura.

Did you try View->Show Path Bar?
You have to change this in a regular window (not the search results).

I don't know. I always get the path.
Try booting into Safe Mode then restart normally. That will sometimes fix anomalies.

Hi Dialabrain, I'm not sure breadcrumb is the right word. Here is a screenshot. Thanks!
"breadcrumb"? Can you expand your question or post a screen shot?
That's it!
Thanks!
My bad. I assumed you had Show Path Bar enabled since it was showing in your second screen shot.
Not your bad, Luis was right. Show Path Bar wasn't on in the regular window. Now it works. Thanks!
You're welcome.
