Removed a device from FindMy app and somehow it erased my iPhone back to factory reset on my 14 pro. Has anyone had same issue?

I kept getting alerts from Find My app that the own of the AirPods is aware of your location with the device and shows a map with red track of everywhere I’ve been that day. I decided to delete my AirPods from FindMy and it erased my iPhone! I even played the sound option to be sure the AirPods were in fact mine.

i have received so far about 5 of these alerts in past 3 months. I also am dealing with recovering that Apple ID but the password no longer works.

just FYI, I divorced recently and have been cyber bullied by ex. So, is this something anyone has also experienced? I am on the most current IOS.

I finally found that I had backed up iCloud Photos to Google photos and took this screen shot of one of the notices I’ve gotten. However, it usually will say “The owner can view the location of his device that is with you.”

The steps I did were not much other than while in the FindMy app, I performed the action for the device removal from the device list which I pressed the AirPods. And it went into a deep dive process with slot of buffering and scary sounds we all are familiar with when doing a large file transfer or well reset.

I called my carrier service and they activated my number back with a brand new Apple ID I had to create. So now I get all the same typical offers of tutorials you get when buying new device and new ID.

I have had iPhones for the past decade and have never been totally stumped with a WTH moment.. but thanks for replying.

I will say that my ex has gone as far as to security continue parental controls on my 14 year olds phone when she has been on my carrier account and supposedly on my Apple family plan yet I’ve caught a device labeled as one of hers, clicked on it and it went to my name and settings for someone to be notified when I come and go.

🤷🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️
