Why did I receive an emergency test at 4:00 AM?

Because Florida messed up and didn’t sent it as a test.

Just because it has the word “TEST” in the alert does not mean it was properly sent as a test alert. If it had been sent correctly as a test alert, rather than an emergency alert, your iPhone would have filtered it out.

Because Florida royally borked it up. They did not send it as a 'test' message, even though the text of the message said it was a test... they sent it as a 'regular' emergency alert.

This is been so upsetting and aggravating. I have a sleep disorder and staying sleep and sleeping for more than 3 hours is a challenge. It had happened to me 3 times already. Always around 4:00AM. The first time I made sure to turn the test alerts off, yet this keeps happening.

I got the alert also, as did almost everyone I know. I have test alerts set to "off" in notifications. Why did the iphone software let this test alert go through?
