Does apple care that Mail rules are currently a complete failure?

I have my rules set up correctly....they work when I right click and select "apply rules".

but quite frankly, thats not what they are there for - they are there to work automatically.

and they don't.

And I'm tired of going through all the levels of support ( I have a ticket somewhere) and the hoops of setting up test accounts and sending logs and etc. etc. etc...only ti have no one ever get back to me anyway.

they use to work automatically - they don't any more...plenty of others have reported the same issue.

When is this going be fixed?

sure:

if ALL of the following conditions are met:

message is junk mail

perform the following actions:

delete message

expected behavior... items marked as junk mail according to my junk mail settings will be deleted

adding too that up until about a year ago this worked as expected ..then all of a sudden, not ... hours spent with level 2 support yields no help

occurring behavior: items marked as junk mail are moved to my junk mail folder... when I right click on them and select "apply rules" they are deleted

yes - latest version of Ventura .... there are other devices using the same iCloud account - iPhone, another Mac (also on Ventura 13.3) and a Mac mini frozen on high Sierra ..but when deleting off the server all of these accounts reflect the deletion - so I only need the rules running on one machine ..whihc was always the case until it wasnt

yes - im NOT moving them to the junk mail box....

I have no idea why these end up in my junk folder...

  1. I have "enable junk mail filtering" selected
  2. "When junk mail arrives" I an using "perform custom actions (click advanced to configure)"
    • under advanced I have:
    • if all of the following conditions are met:
      • sender is not in my previous recipients
      • message is junk mail
    • Perform the following actions
      • delete message

(so this is yet another rule that does not work)

I have "filter junk mail before applying my rules" UNSELECTED

Ive tried turning enable junk Mal filtering both off and on - neither setting is having a positive affect on what im trying to do.

Again, I appreciate the help ... let me give you the outcome I want and you tell me how to set it up...

Desired outcome: Mail identified by junk mail headers is deleted upon entry into inbox
