Heres how verifying my Chase account worked. You saw the first step with 5/3. Chase was the same but no screen captures. Chase made deposits, they hit Apple Savings, I got the amounts and then entered them. Now I can transfer to 5/3.

A new link/button became visible too, that said > verify < and I clicked. That to me to transfer from 5/3 bank. I had to enter the amounts (deposits) a second time. That enabled transfer from 5/3.

Why two processes? Some don’t want it easy to transfer out. Think scans, fraud and hackers. Hackers is more an issue with small local banks, but not always. Banks want to take deposits in not transfer out, as evidenced by recent events.

You probably missed the second step. Contact your external (non-apple) institution and check. But Chase and other banks did both steps.

I do not think this is correct. Any bank account of mine I try and add using the iOS wallet and Apple Savings account and it keeps asking for verification. But then the only option Apple Savings gives is to make a call to Apple and Apple is not able to help. My banks are NOT asking for verification.

Please help fix this - we should be able to easily add our own accounts directly into Apple Savings

I just personally went through the process connecting 5/3 Bank to Apple Savings. It started by going to my 5/3 App. Logged into 5/3 bank, found section for connecting External Accounts. Looked like this.

Clicked Move Money, yours may be labeled differently.

Click Transfer Funds or similar wording, maybe setup account. You should see a screen to enter your Apple Savings AKA External Account Routing and Account Number.

Once numbers are entered you’ll agree to some legal requirements and agree to Terms & Conditions. Then you’ll enter the verification process.

There are generally two processes, Plaid and direct deposit/transfer. Many banks don’t support Plaid, and they do a direct deposit of two different amounts and then withdraw them.

You need to be on the lookout for those two deposits into Apple Savings. Generally they’re done in 2 to 5 days. Once you see them, write down the numbers and go to your Accountant, in my case 5/3. Fill in the form and send to you bank. You’ll generally get instant verification and you’re all set. You can now move funds back and forth.
