I just cannot get on well with Apple password management
I go round and round in circles.
Let’s say I manage to reset a password.
I get a link sent by email from the third party company.
THE PROCEDURE
I click on the link.
The link takes me to a blank new password box in Safari.
Apple password management offers a new password.
I accept.
Apple has presumably saved the new password?
I am then in the third party website.
I sign out.
I try to sign back in.
But the password Apple provides is not accepted.
I click on the reset password or ‘forgot password’ option.
The third party sends me a reset password link in an email.

Maybe I haven’t explained this little dance in enough detail. [I’m currently exasperated by trying to sign in to an account on PersianPod101 (Innovative Languages)].
Note: sometimes, for some reason, a website or app (or combination of the two) will appear in the Password list with two slightly different titles. This will further complicate things if I use the Password list to help me choose which password to use to try to access the account before using a password reset/forgot password option. If I have chosen the wrong option, Apple will update both passwords to the wrong option, erasing the correct option (I assume).
My hunch is that on some occasions this little circular dance (which I assume must delight Apple password management - after all, who is not delighted to see someone learning and performing intricate dance moves) is further complicated if I have been accessing an account on a website using Google password management…. but that’s a story for another day (and Google is/are not here to defend itself/themselves).
I would have to add (as a postscript/appendix) that the more and more ambitious Apple become in offering sophisticated software features in the management of everyday devices (such as iPhones and iPads), the less enamoured I become. Honestly. A case in point: the operation of the Apple music player on my iPhone SE 3rd generation. (A story for another day).
