Am I missing something about the usefulness of Safari-suggested strong passwords?

I do want to be secure. So when Apple started suggesting strong passwords whenever I needed to enter a new one, I was ecstatic and took it up on its offers. But soon my happiness faded - the first time I needed to access a web site I had protected with Apple's suggestion from a Windows PC at work. I didn't know the password and, of course, it wasn't getting filled in for me on a non-Apple device. Even had I known back then that I can find the password in my iPhone's Settings->Passwords, it would have still been rather tedious entering such a long password without mistakes (especially since most web sites don't show you what you entered). I gave up and continued to use my own set of passwords.

Recently I found another shortcoming: when an app sends you to a web site to reset your password, that app doesn't get to know the Strong password you accepted from Safari on that Web site! So even without involving a non-Apple device, strong passwords are way too cumbersome to use (but at least you can use copy/paste).

So is anyone actually using those strong passwords suggested by Apple and, if so, how do you deal with the above two scenarios?

I had high hopes when passkeys were introduced recently. But I don't see anyone other than the major players (Google, Amazon, FB?) implementing them - at least not yet.
