How to generate an app-specific password

1. Sign in to https://appleid.apple.com.

2. In the Sign-In and Security section, select App-Specific Passwords.

3. Select Generate an app-specific password or select the Add button , then follow the steps on your screen.

4. Enter or paste the app-specific password into the password field of the app.

I'm having a similar issue.

1. Sign in to https://appleid.apple.com.

2. In the Sign-In and Security section, select App-Specific Passwords.

3. Select Generate an app-specific password or select the Add button ,

4. get the below prompt,

5. open up Apple ID on 5 devices and it just loops between step 3 & 4 constantly.

It's realy frustrating!

As I said I tried Chrome and it did not work for me using Apple device, but I went onto my windows laptop and used MS Edge and it did not pop up that 'Continue on another Device' but asked for my AppleId password again and then generated the App specific password

How embarrassing that you cannot use an appleid.apple.com capability using an Apple built browser (safari) but have to use Microsoft tools to get the job done.

This is not working. Goes into a verification loop but doesn't generate a new password

I had a chat with Apple. There is a problem with Safari and this service. But when you use Chrome or Arc you can generate app specific passwords. So this I just a workaround but works very well

Can you be specific on steps taken as I did this in Chrome and it continues to loop putting up "Continue on one of your devices" with nothing happening.

Why does it need a 16 digit # for app specific password?
