How do I change my weather app’s my location language? My language and region settings are in English only. It has been displaying Chinese words (吉隆坡）instead of English (Kuala Lumpur) in “my location”’s weather.

I found a solution that works for me: (Got this from a Malaysia local forum lowyat)
1. Go to Settings --> General --> Language & Region
2. Mine was on "English" but it is actually English (U.K)
3. Change to English (Singapore) & if you have Chinese, remove it also.
4. Reboot
5. Check Maps and Weather. Mine got fixed already at this point.
6. Change back to English (U.K) & if you want Chinese, you can add it.
7. Reboot
8. Check Maps and Weather.

Hi guys if you are annoyed with the *widget* showing wrong (bugged) language, one quick solution is to add the corresponding city, say "Kuala Lumpur". Then, hold the weather widget -> Edit "Weather", and pick the location you want.
This doesn't solve the "my location" issue still.
i found out that if you type Kuala lumpur and choose Kuala lumpur, the weather will chinese wording 吉隆坡. But if you type KL and choose Kuala lumpur , the weather will show english wording “Kuala Lumpur”
Hi guys, anyone has any luck on this? restarting, deleting and reinstalling the weather app is not working. I've ensured that my language on phone and weather app are in English too. "My location" location name for Kuala Lumpur is still showing Chinese characters.
Looks like Apple is not resolving this issue after it is known for at least 1 year.
I have the same issue, and the preferred language is set to English. Changing it doesn't seem to change anything. Could be an issue from Apple Maps metadata.
It's Apple Maps' data causing it to show Chinese character. Reported once few weeks ago, no changes made. (sorry for my bad censoring skill)
I noticed the same problem. While traditional Chinese is set as my secondary language after English, this bug only surfaces in Kuala Lumpur for me and not in other countries or cities…
Do you also have English as the preferred language in the settings for the weather app?

I had this issue resolved by reinstalling weather on iPhone but issue persists on MacBook since cannot reinstall the app...
