iPhone Battery

Why does Apple consider a phone without a battery a "repair"? I had battery replaced at what I thought was authorized Apple repair. Turned out it was not. Once battery was changed an alert showed up that could not be deleted. Repair shop told me to take phone to Apple and have the battery replaced, get the one they installed and they would refund the repair. Apple refused to give me the old battery saying it was their policy. So I asked if I had battery removed and brought phone in would they install a new battery. The answer was no. So now my choice is to live with the alert or pay for another battery replacement to get rid of the alert. Anyone else had this happen?

Why questions can't be answered here. This is a user to user only forum. All we can tell you is Apple has always refused service on devices which have been tampered with by anyone other than Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Your phone still works, it will just always always show that it has inauthentic parts installed. The ONLY place you can get an authentic battery put in your iPhone is Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. If they are telling you they would be willing to let you pay them to put an authentic battery in your iPhone, I'd take advantage of that. Often, they simply won't touch a device which wasn't serviced by them.
