USB to USB-C adapter not being recognized
Hello,
I recently purchased the MacBook Pro 14" 2023 with the M2 Pro chip and I also bought the USB-C to USB adapter with it. I've noticed that anytime I connect that adapter with a wired accessory, a "trust this device" window will pop-up for a short second and disappear.
For example, last week I tried connecting an external webcam with a USB cable. I then connected it with the USB-C adapter. When I went to Zoom or even the FaceTime app, the MacBook was unable to find the device.
That instance also happened another time when I tried to connect wired headphones that has a USB cable.
When I go into System Information, I can see the device under Hardware > USB > UCB 3.1 Bus. The only other time I got it to work was plugging in the adapter then restarting the computer and then suddenly I can use the device.
I've already spoke with Apple Support, but they weren't able to provide solid reasoning or a solution as to why this happens. If someone could please help me out with this issue or if anyone else is having this issue please reply. I'm curious as to see if this is a manufacturer issue or something.
