Dual Sim usage while overseas

I'm going overseas and ATT is my carrier in the US. I want to use an eSim in Spain. Without that eSim, I would pay $10 for every day cellular data is active. Could I avoid that by just specifying my eSim as the primary for both Cellular and Data once I'm in Spain? Or would I get that $10 Charge no matter what.

You would need to turn off the AT&T sim entirely, so it is not active in Spain at all.

If it is active, it will cost you $10 a day for the service. AT&T does not differentiate between data or text and calls. It's all covered by the $10 a day charge. If it's active for calls it will still charge you.
