iPhone is caching old expired email server SSL

We want to enable SSL for our email account. The SSL for the mail server was recently renewed, but the iPhone (iPhone SE 16.3.1) is still hanging onto the old, now expired certificate, causing issues as one would expect. How can one purge the iPhone's email server SSL cache and ensure that it's seeing the new, valid certificate?

iOS broke self signed SSL certificates After updating my iPad 11 Pro to iOS 18, Apple’s email client now refuses to honor the self signed certificate I use for my IMAP server with the error ‘Unable to create a secure connection to the server ("bad certificate format" -9,808).’ Clients on other platforms such as Android, Windows, Linux and Solaris work fine. Bad certificate format -9,808 I’ve been having this problem since the 18.3.1 upgrade. Is there a solution? My emails are not being sent and i don’t know why. I get the message that says “bad certificate format -9,808.” Is this on my phone/computer? Or is this a problem with my email provider? There phone gives me the 9808 warning, but my Mail likewise does not recognize my emails.
