CarPlay connection on KIA Picanto

CarPlay recognizes my iPhone but it’s connecting for a long time and then it says “device not responding”

Bluetooth connection does work, but I obviously want CarPlay to work as well

I hope someone can help me fix this problem

Thanks!

You're welcome.

If your Kia is brand new, it should support Wireless CarPlay, but there may be different options in different countries. You can check this at the shop where the car was bought. Even if your car has CarPlay, it is not a given that it supports Wireless CarPlay. In that case, you can connect with a USB cable.

To use Wireless CarPlay, it is important that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are activated on your iPhone, and that it is fully updated. Try restarting your iPhone and try connecting again.

Also check if CarPlay is subject to restrictions in Screen Time, go to:

SettingsScreen TimeContent & Privacy RestrictionsAllowed AppsCarPlay must be activated.

Remember that not all cars support Wireless CarPlay. Newer Kia Picanto supports Wireless Carplay. If your Picanto does not support Wireless CarPlay, you must connect with your USB cable.

If your iPhone does not connect to CarPlay in your Kia, try to set up the connection again. On your car's display, go into Settings and select Connections - find your iPhone in the list and choose to delete it.

On your iPhone, go to Settings Bluetooth, find Kia Motors or whatever it's called on your iPhone and delete it from there too. Now you can set up your iPhone with CarPlay again. On your steering wheel, press and hold the Speak Icon button, on your iPhone go to Settings Bluetooth, you should see Kia Motors, tap and select Yes to use the connection with CarPlay.

Remember that your car must be parked and with the handbrake on while you set it up.
