Behringer BCF2000 control surface not working in Logic Pro X 10.7.4

I have been trying to get a Behringer BCF2000 control surface running in Logic Pro X 10.7.4 on M1 running Monterey 12.2.

Followed the directions here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DK0ZyodIpds

1 = U-1

3 = Auto

5 = ID1

7 = 100

8 = 10

'Exit' to store the configuration, although the BCF2000 is displaying 'LC' not 'Pn'.

LPX lists the controller in Control Surfaces > Setup, so it is seeing something on the other end of the USB cable.

I disconnected everything, moved ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs, powered down and restarted to make the OS redetect the controller and there is no change.

There must be something I am missing here?

thanks

I have made some progress.

Disabled auto installation > disabled BCF2000 in MIDI controller preferences and added a Mackie Designs/Mackie controller and mapped IN/OUT to the BCF2000. Now I can switch track banks and operate the faders, however the BCF faders zip back back to zero after every change.

If anyone has any insight, please share.
