Grammarly Safari Extension Takes Up Lots of RAM

I have an M2 MacBook Air, 16 GB of RAM, running macOS Ventura 13.3.1 (current latest macOS). I have the Grammarly Safari extension installed, and when using Safari, I can see that the Grammarly extension always seems to use a bit over 3 GB of RAM. When I first installed it, for the first week or so, it seemed to use barely any RAM, ranging from 300mb-800mb. How can I reduce the amount of RAM that is used up by the Grammarly Safari extension?

Greetings dripz_XD,

If a 3rd party extension is not working as expected, uninstall and reinstall the extension. This can often help resolve unexpected behaviors.

"Uninstall or turn off extensions

Choose Safari > Settings (or Preferences), then click Extensions.

  • To turn off an extension, deselect its checkbox.
  • To uninstall an extension, select the extension and click the Uninstall button. If you can't determine what an extension does, or you don't expect to use it again, you should uninstall it." Use Safari extensions on your Mac
