contacts messed up

test - posted below from my MacBook Air. Posting from here to see how I show up — sorry for duplicating - but wanted to test.

I have an iPhone, an iPad and a MacBook Air. I'm signed in with my one Apple ID on all devices yet the contacts are completely messed up. I had a number of duplicates on my iPhone (really not sure how). I merged and none of the merged contacts are on my MacBook Air. I airdropped by husbands card to my MacBook Air - as it wasn't there. It created a duplicate on my iPhone and then when I merged the two - he dropped from my MacBook Air. He has a different contact photo on my iPhone and my iPad as well. I had two exchange accounts (work) on my iPhone - I turned off those contacts to see if it helped anything - but it has not. Not sure what to do or try. Any thoughts?
