New MAC Mini and Safari IS NOT ADDING/SAVING Bookmarks

I have search and searched and cannot find a resolution as how to fix this problem! I did not realize it was not adding the bookmarks until I went to find one I had recently saved.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Salutations debifromherndon,

Below are the ways to add a bookmark, which one are you using? Bookmark websites that you want to revisit in Safari on Mac

Add a bookmark
1. In the Safari app on your Mac, go to the website you want to bookmark.
2. Click the Share button in the toolbar, then choose Add Bookmark.
3. Choose where to add the bookmark, and rename it if you like.
* Add this page to: Click the pop-up menu and choose a folder. The default is Favorites.
* Rename the bookmark: Enter a brief name to help you identify the website.
* Add a description: Enter more details as an optional reminder about the website.
4. Click Add.
You can also add a bookmark in the Smart Search field: Move the pointer over the Smart Search field, click and hold the One-Step Add button that appears at the left end of the field, then choose a bookmarks folder from the list.

After you add the bookmark, you can find it in the sidebar.

Also, please check to see if your bookmarks are syncing with iCloud in System Settings > your name > iCloud.

If you haven’t already, please quit Safari, relaunch and test again Quit apps on Mac

If the issue persists, quit Safari, restart your Mac and test again. Shut down or restart your Mac

Thanks.

Thank you for the reply debifromherndon!

If you have already followed the actions in the article we provided, the next step would be to make sure your macOS is updated. Updating your Mac may also update your Safari version if it is out-of-date:
