Can't say exactly when it started (or when I noticed it for the 1st time) but lately, after I close the lid of my 2019 15" MBP the Music app that was running shuts itself off. Running latest version of Ventura. Doesn't happen with any other app.
Any insights?

We'd be happy to help out. If your Mac goes to sleep when closing its lid, this would be normal behavior. The only way to prevent this from occurring would be to keep your Mac from going to sleep when closing its lid, however this would consume much more battery by doing so.

When you go to logout or restart the laptop, make when you see the pop-up confirmation message, make sure the box is checked for "Reopen Windows when logging in". Complete the logout or reboot. Sleep the laptop & wake it to see if this may have resolved the problem.
Absolutely normal - unless you are running your mac in clamshell mode, with an external keyboard, mouse and display.... as already noted, your mac should sleep, so not only Music, but any application would stop.

Sorry for the confusion. The pics I posted earlier were not from the dock, but from the application switcher (Cmd+tab).
To clarify, here are 2 new pics from the app switcher AND the dock.
As you can see, after reopening the lid all other apps "stayed" and they have each the black dot under their icons on the dock and only the Music app disappears.
Hope now it's clear. 😊

Luis, following is a screenshots of 10 active apps before closing the lid (some of them Apple native, "come with" the macOS and some of them 3rd party)
And then, after closing and reopening the lid, until some time ago, all apps "came back", now, as you can see, the only one that didn't is Music.

It would be normal behavior for the music to stop as mentioned earlier. If you're referring to keeping the app in the Dock, you can do so by Control-click the app’s icon, then choose Options > Keep in Dock:

I didn't refer to keeping the app in the dock. It is in the dock and it keeps staying there also when it's not active.
I was referring about the Music app shutting off/deactivating when I closed the lid and if this is normal I'm wondering why just the M app out of 10 other apps. How come not all of them are shutting off/deactivating/whatever we should call to what they are supposed to do...

Your screenshots do not appear consistent to what you are saying now - they show Music not in the Dock...

I restarted my MBP and checked the "Reopen Windows when logging in" box.
After restarting, the Music app restarted/was active like all other apps, but when I just closed the lid after that, again, the only app that shut itself off was the Music.
Oh, I hope I didn't offend you. Anyway, my reply wasn't criticizing, bitter or anything like it. More humorist than all that.
And I really appreciate your help so far.
It's just that, with the whole lot of smart/experienced "brains" here, I was expecting some kind of "miracle" to happen, that we'd make it work properly.
I think I'll try one thing that, if it won't help, at least won't hurt, I'll try to reinstall the OS.

Reinstalling macOS Ventura didn't change a thing.
