Wired Earphones not skipping 15seconds

I just bought a new pair of wired Earphones around a month ago, they only pause and play and skip song now and the skip forward within a song feature no longer works. i have reset my phone, forgot all lightning adapters and cleaned debris from both the port and headphone control panel itself, any help?!

Running iPhone 7 and EarPods with Lightning Connector.

Lightning wired earpod buttons not working I have been using the lightning wired earpods for like a year with no problem, but now i’m having trouble. I’ve been able to use the physical buttons on the wired earpods to turn up/down the volume and pause/skip songs in the past, but a couple days ago i got a message that appeared on my screen saying “Is this Lightning adapter connecting a pair of headphones?”. I tried restarting my phone cleaning the charging port on my phone, and hitting “forget all adapters” but nothing is working. I can still listen to music through the wired earpods, but i cannot control the volume or pause/skip buttons.

Earphones not supported Hi, I bought a pair of apple wired earpods with the lightening connector to use with my iPhone 8. However, when I plug the earphones in my phone nothing happens; the sound still plays through my phone so I assume the earphones aren't connected/supported. I didn't even get a "these earphones aren't supported message until I tried to toggle a setting in headphone audio - "custom audio setup". On the other hand, these earphones work perfectly fine when I plug them into my ipad....How is that so. And yes, I've tried to whole "Check for debris, damage, or loose connections" and nothing...plus my charger works so that can't be it.
