Frequent Audio Stutters and Disconnections on iPhone 13 When Using Wireless Earbuds

I’m an iPhone 13 user, and I often experience stuttering or interruptions when listening to music using either third-party TWS or AirPods. My internet connection is strong, and the songs are already downloaded, so that’s not the issue. Sometimes the earbuds even disconnect on their own. I’ve tried various solutions, including replacing the Bluetooth antenna hardware, but it made no difference. What could be the problem? This usually happens when I’m walking and have my iPhone in my pants pocket, or when the phone is slightly pressed because there are other items in the pocket.

iPhone 13, iOS 18

If you have the screen against your body you will randomly ‘press’ buttons on the face of the screen that can interrupt the BT temporarily.

Have you tried forgetting, then re-pairing your BT devices?

If it happens in specific places, and the same places every time, it is almost certainly microwave interference→Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support. The frequency range used by Bluetooth is in an unlicensed band, and is also included in S band (2 to 4 GHz) radar. Uses include airport surveillance radar, air traffic control radar, surface ship radar, weather radar and ground penetrating radar. So if you are near an airport, body of water when larger boats and ships or weather stations that is a likely cause. Bluetooth’s 2.4 GHz is right in the middle of S band.

If you actually opened the phone and changed the BT antenna Apple will no longer perform any repairs on your iPhone.
