Sorry, but the iPod Nano 3rd gen. can not be serviced anymore by Apple. Since the Support Status has been set to "obsolete", as the iPod Nano has been discontinued 2008, you will have to look for a 3rd party repair shop.
Also, the software can't be updated to a newer version than OS 1.1.3
