apple watch shows connecting to apple tv but never connects
It just constantly shows connecting. It worked the first time after about 5 attempts but hasn't connected since.

You might try to unpair the watch from your tv, restart the watch, and pair it again. See the 'Unpair and remove Apple TV' section (and others) in:
