iOS 16.4.1 VR video upside down

Go to settings, safari, advanced, experimental features, scroll down to “Screen Orientation API” turn that off and it seems to work fine again.

It seems to be

Settings -> Safari -> Advanced -> Experimental Features -> Screen Orientation API

I turned that off and it seem to resolve the issue.

Settings>Safari>Advanced >Experimental Features>Screen Orientation API, set to off.

Reporting same bug from India. Latest update has screwed orientation in safari browser while playing watching vr content. However, orientation works fine in other browsers like mozilla, chrome. Does anybody have a fix yet?

It works for me in CzechRepublic.

Do your Part. Give Apple feedback on this. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what issues are occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.

How to Give Feedback:

1. Go Here: Feedback - Apple Music - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for "Feedback Type"
3. Select: "Browse" for "What Apple Music feature is your feedback about?"
4. Comment: one when you came across this issues, wand how you have troubleshoot it this far
5. Proceed from there as necessary

it is embarrassing. Based in my tests it is only a bug in Safari. Apps are working fine as well as other browsers like Chrome

I force-quit safari (pull up from bottom then flick it away, not just a soft-exit where it’s running on the background), turned off the Screen Orientation API, as previously described, then re-launched Safari.

I do not guarantee my work. This worked for me, but I don’t actually work for Apple. I just saw someone else’s comment about turning off experimental features and I tried a few (resetting afterwards) until I found the one that worked for me.

I only turned off “Screen Orientation API” and that did the trick

Everyone posts the same suggestion for a fix. However this doesn’t work for me. I suspect the issue is within the specific application I am trying to use. I have reached out to the app developer reporting the problem. Their response is that they are working on a fix. So, the issue may not be with Apple or Safari itself.

A truly embarrassing bug. Apple should be ashamed of the current lacklustre quality of their flagship products.

Same problem here in Switzerland (also with German version) Videos play Upside Down no matter how you orientate the phone...

We should be paid for testing the phone :-)
