Large attachments not showing up in message body in outgoing mail - Mac OS

If I attach a large file to the email I'm composing (Apple Mail), the size of the email adjusts accordingly (I have the "message size" visible), yet the attachment is no where to be seen and as a result cannot be deleted to be replaced by a smaller sized file. I end up having to copy everything I've written, discard the current email I'm composing and start with a fresh one, which is highly annoying to say the least...

This is happening in Mac OS 13.3.1

Has there been a fix to this yet?

I had this issue in an outgoing mail message as I was trying to attach an Adobe .psd file. Nothing showed up other than "message size" box in the upper left and an "image size" box in the ur. Nothing shows up in the context panel of the email. They used to and one could select "show as icon" or not with a right click. No longer.

Yet, when I closed the email composition and kept (save) the draft, I could see the attachment in my "draft" messages and double-clicking to open it now allows me to see my attachment and to also control how it is seen as icon etc.

I tested with a very large file of a different extension and seemed normal yet I thought you may wish to try looking at a draft and seeing if your attachment is there...
