Calendar Complication stuck at "No more events today" (REOPEN)

This problem has a long history; search for the subject of this but without the “(REORDER)”

Here is a new, simpler workaround:

Assume the sticking complication is CALENDAR, displayed in the MIDDLE spot, displaying “Your Schedule”

Steps:

  • switch the displayed format from Your Schedule to “Today’s Date” (the only other choice)
  • Check to confirm the new setting
  • Switch back to “Your Schedule”

This workaround only lasts a few days, then it gets stuck again. But at least you're very good at fixing it now.

It's now almost March of 2024 -- I'm on iOS 17.3.1 and WatchOS 10.3.1.

The problem has not only NOT gone away, I think my problems STARTED with WatchOS 10.x/iOS 17.x

Using ONLY Apple/iCloud calendars.

IOS 17.1 + WatchOS 10.1.1 did not remedy this issue. Looking at support communities, this is a recurring issue and has been ongoing for quite some time. I am at the point where I feel the need to wait longer and longer to update due to said updates constantly reeking havoc on useful functionality. The bugs get worse, not better with each new release. And, it takes longer and longer to remedy bugs. Perhaps Apple should consider less frequent OS update releases, rather than yearly updates that are increasingly more sloppy and buggy year over year which frustrates and disenfranchises customers.

My iPhone 15 and my watch are on the latest software as of 10/17/2023 and I am having this same issue.

I've tried pretty close to everything.

For me the Outlook Calendar is what's most important so I changed the widget to Outlook - > Up Next . I use to be able to see my outlook calendar by using the widget under Calendar - > Your Schedule.... but as we all know that isn't working. Hope this is helpful for some people.

Since updating my phone to 17 and 10 (have the most recent versions - 17.0.3 and 10.0.2) the schedule complication is not reliably working. It picks and chooses what it wants to show with little logic (that I can trace). I hadn’t even realized how much I rely on this feature. Now that I can’t rely on it, I’m wondering why I even have an Apple Watch. I have tried every single suggestion including factory resetting several times and nothing works. Nothing.

I've tried many fixes here, including switching the complication from schedule to date and back to no avail. The fix that did work was to publish my o365 calendar, then subscribe to that calendar in my iCloud calendar. I set this calendar as 'push'.

From there, I left the original o365 calendar active on all devices, but deselected the subscribed calendar. This part was to mitigate duplicates on my mac, iPad, and iPhone. Then, from the watch app on my phone, switched from 'mirror my phone' to 'custom'. I then deselected the o365 calendar and made active my subscribed calendar.

So, in the end result all devices but my watch use the actual o365 calendar and my watch displays the subscribed calendar. It's admittedly a bit of a PITA to work out a hack just to get the complication to display all calendar items as it used to and still should.

How this issue has persisted this long without a remedy from Apple is shameful.

I've been going crazy about this issue for many months.

Here are my calendar set up:

  1. Tasks & Reminders (personal Google account - gmail)
  2. Appointments (personal Google account - gmail, but shared from my personal Google Workspace account)
  3. Work (professional Google Workspace account)

I noticed that the only calendar not showing was #2 but only today have I realized (after reading another thread) that this calendar is a shared calendar belonging to a different account.

I have this set up so that I don't need to configure both my personal Gmail and my Google Workspace accounts + I can consolidate calendars on Google Calendar's web view.

Anyway, my first thought was to finally configure both accounts separately on iOS instead of relying on the calendar share.

But instead I did the following and it worked:

  1. Go to https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/syncselect
  2. Unselect the shared calendar
  3. Refresh calendars list on iOS (go to calendar app, pull down the list of calendars)
  4. See the shared calendar disappear
  5. Go back to https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/syncselect
  6. Reselect the shared calendar
  7. Repeat step 3
  8. See the shared calendar reappear on iOS AND on watchOS calendar complication ✨

Not sure this is gonna stick but it looks promising.

Hope it helps others.
