noone here knows apples plans or microsofts, up until now microsoft have only support windows 10ARM and 11ARM versions as preinstalled OEM, not as standalone enduser install on your own machine, with the agreements with parallels and think wmware that changes a bit but being virtual machines it does not optimises against the hardware platform.

the arm windows is optimized against the arm cpu qualcomm makes for microsoft, not for apples m series

so would not be likely to run that well if bootcamp came back

that does not answers at all... in fact it is misleading!

Microsoft Surface Pro X features a ARM processor and DOES native boot of windows, so could Apple if bootcamp was around!

Microsoft is not supporting native boot on Apple silicon processors.

They’ve been supporting Parallels, and have been in beta with that via the Windows Insiders program for a while.

What Microsoft might extend that Windows support to in the future, whether to other hypervisors, or to native boot with Boot Camp or otherwise on Apple silicon, and how they might license and support it, is best discussed with Microsoft.

Boot Camp or an analog or having native support in-built into Windows on Arm would be necessary for native boot, but there are still licensing and support details that will need to be decided by Microsoft.

Microsoft is presently supporting Windows on Arm as a guest of the Parallels hypervisor on Apple silicon M1 and M2 processors, and not with native boot support.

For questions about future plans for Microsoft Windows on Arm and particularly around native boot, or requests for the addition of native boot, contact Microsoft. (And nobody here is in a position to speculate about future plans at Apple.)

That is "pushing" the Surface computer. It has been running Windows Arm for a year or two. Windows Arm is not available for download other than from the insider program. The Windows Arm has a different instruction set than Apple's Arm OS and will not run on a Mac Silicon.

There is no reason to make Boot Camp support Windows Arm if Windows Arm is not available for download and considering it is deigned for different hardware other than Apple silicon.

Just for reference, here are some Arm operating systems. Note that not many will run on anything but their own hardware.

I don't think its up to MS actually...

Linux (starting with Asahi) and OpenBSD both have native boot support on Apple silicon, and without needing any Apple add-ons. Compare this with Microsoft, presently booting Windows 11 as a guest in Parallels.

If you want Windows on Arm at present, acquire Surface Pro X or another Arm platform with native boot support, or boot as a guest in Parallels on Apple silicon M1 or M1.

Want native boot on Apple silicon M1 and M2, send your request to Microsoft.

I don't think its up to MS actually... there might be some drivers issues but that's more on Apple/Part-Supplier than MS imho... Samsung has some Galaxy Book's using ARM processors, that's a fact, and you mean to tell me that MS customized windows ARM to run bare-metal on their silicon? Apple M1 is based on ARM8.6, SQ1 and SQ2 from MS+Qualcoom are based on ARM8... following logical versioning logic, there should be no breaking changes between 8 and 8.6, only new features, aka everything that was planned for 8 SHOULD work just fine on 8.6...

in the end of the day, I think Apple just doesn't want to do it... probably sees no monetary advantage to it... who doesn't buy a MacBook today only because it can't run windows natively?

Microsoft reportedly spent a billion dollars on Kin, and spent a big chunk of ten billion on Windows Phone. And Windows Phone was actually a pretty good product, and with a UI that is still ahead of Apple in various ways. Windows Phone was just… late. Microsoft is not always successful in what they are pushing.

For Windows 11 on Arm, contact Microsoft, and request native boot on Apple silicon.

Pending any addition of native boot, boot Windows 11 for Arm as a guest via Parallels on Apple silicon M1 and M2.

Where are you seeing a Microsoft download of Windows Arm?

Last I checked Windows Arm is only available through the insider program.

Microsoft Surface has been running Windows Arm for some time now. Where is this "Microsoft is pushing windows ARM mainstream with full power."
