I have been receiving email addressed to my.name@me.com
I don’t know what this email is or why I am getting it. There are two in particular that are clearly not for me, but are legitimate. They are receipts for purchases in London - but I am not the purchaser. Same first.last name as me but clearly a different person. Makes me wonder if this person is getting my emails.
Is there some way to get rid of this me.com account?

There are a few things you can try here. First, please be sure to identify if these messages are phishing attempts: Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams.
To avoid similar messages in the future, you can also Change your Apple ID email address or use an iCloud alias email address going forward: Add and manage email aliases for iCloud Mail on iCloud.
