How to tell if Apple Mail has Modern Authentication?

OS 10.14.6

My ISP sent me a confusing email saying Basic Authentication will "retire" on 28 April. A link in the email directs one to instructions on how to enable Modern Authentication, which involves deleting mailboxes. (I don't even know what authentication of email means, but that's another question) I would like to know if there's a way to tell if my Apple Mail already HAS enabled Modern Authentication before I start deleting mailboxes, as the instructions direct. Is there a way?

It has not in older OS versions, like Mojave, in fact Safari & Apple's Mail on Macs falls by the wayside with every new OS iteration.

If your Mail provider doesn't work with 2FA or an App PW, then you'll likely be stuck using WebMail in a browser. :(
