Text message goes to computer instead of iphone

Why does my Macbook Air pick up my text messages occasionally and not my phone? I'm missing messages when I'm not at the computer and out and about town. How can I fix this problem? Seems to be imessages.

Thanks, I think I figured out how to get texts now on both my iPhone and MacBook air at the same time, although I don't need the messages on my computer. I'd rather make sure that they always come to my phone. Not sure that I will get my messages when I'm on the road, so concerned I'll miss a message on my phone when not at home. I don't know what the issue is, if it is connectivity or not.

Hello jayjayna,

Thanks for the followup. It's hard to say what may be causing the issue. If you don't have a network connection, that may be the cause for them to not initially come in, although they should be delivered when you reconnect.

If you had a chance to work through the steps in our previous article, and you find that the issue persists in the future, we suggest you contact Apple Support so that they can look into this with you further. They can be reached here: Apple Support

Best Regards.
