External SSD overheating under macOS Big Sur

My External SSD disk overheat even if its not working, Case Orico USB 3.1 Nvme Kingston 2TB.

I have this problem only on my MacBook Pro 2018 with Big Sur, try all ports

bcs if I connect the ssd on my Mac studio everything works good and ssd is cold,


any idea what can be?

What makes you think the SSD is overheating?


Have you tried booting this Mac into Safe Mode? If Safe Mode resolves the problem, then you most likely have an issue with some third party software.


Connect the drive directly to the computer and disconnect all other external devices in case one of them is interfering.
