Logitech Options and Options+ do not see the run in background/startup/input control permissions

Hi all,

I have a rather frustrating issue. I had both Logitech Options and Options+ installed and working on my machine (MBP 13" 2019, Ventura 13.3.1) but had to delete and reinstall them for an unrelated reason. Since the reinstall, neither program works.

The issue seems to be that neither program recognizes that they have the needed permissions in Settings (open at login, allow in background and input control). In the course of trying to solve this issue, I have also deleted the folders associated with these programs in /library/application support.

Options+ seems to launch fine, but does not continue past the 'enable permissions' animation. Options gives the spinning circle animation. If the Add Device option is pressed, Options installs Logitech Bolt, which installs without issue and detects the device if connected. If the Log In option is selected, it will usually not show any change but sometimes will produce a pop up with the Setting screen and a button to open Settings.

The Logitech device is a Triathlon M720 mouse that I connect using the USB module.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Okay yesterday night finally I found a solution for 13.3.1!!!

First uninstall ALL Logitech apps with AppCleaner. Make sure there is NO Logi Options or anything in Accessibility or Bluetooth Permissions. If there is anything delete it with -.

Then reinstall only the newest version of Logi Options+ from their homepage.

After that go back to Accessibility -> Input Monitoring and RIGHT CLICK on Logi Options+. Choose SHOW IN FINDER.

Manually drag an drop Logi Options+ from the folder you navigate in Finder to INPUT MONITORING. Same steps with BLUETOOTH PERMISSIONS when Logitech Options+ asks.

Relaunch the app and let's go!

Thanks , this led me on the right path, since the mention that the application you launch is just the frontend.

the "real" path was not visible anywhere, but for people looking for the path of the executable you need to give permission to its this:

/Library/Application Support/Logitech/LogiOptionsPlus/Logi Options+

pretty sure you dont have to uninstall anything

Yes, that is really helpful. Guys Im m1 macbook, I use FInder go to that path

/Library/Application Support/Logitech/LogiOptionsPlus/Logi Options+

and drap the Log Opions+ in to the permission settings. I belive most people will click that plus button on permission, but dont do that it would not work as Morten said it just a frontend. You Need to Drag the

/Library/Application Support/Logitech/LogiOptionsPlus/Logi Options+

into permission settings which is backend program are really working.

It’s really an annoying issue that Logitech has known about for years. They clearly have no interest in resolving the problem either. The issue was there when Options+ was first offered as a Beta, and it’s there now. Tech support is essentially useless. You’d think this would be listed in the FAQ at least!

I installed SteerMouse over the weekend. It seems to work fine, though it doesn’t offer all the control that Options+ is supposed to, it does enough that I can use most of the MX Master 3S Mac mouse. There are other software options out there as well, just haven’t had the time to check them out.

None of this would be necessary if Apple just offered a mouse other than the Magic Mouse. I love the form factor/appearance of the Magic Mouse, but as a usable option it fall far short.

  • First it is too small for my hand, so my fingers don’t line up properly. I frequently “miss” the area on the mouse needed for gestures to work
  • Inexplicable, sometimes the mouse thinks I’m trying to move the pointer while I’m trying to click something. It’s really frustrating.
  • Gestures don’t work consistently
  • The charging port is in a stupid location! This renders the mouse unusable while charging

There is more, I’m just not thinking of them. Anyway, this is what brings me to Logitech MX Master 3S. It’s a really nice mouse. I love the soft click button actuation. It fits my hand nicely as well. So, I’m not giving up on it yet…

Having the same issue, brand new Logitech G502 X Lightspeed, Brand new Apple M3 Max MacBook Pro, and the "Logi Options+" software never shows the USB receiver when going to "add device"

Wondering if this is caused by how they verify the hardware, since the MacBook Pro now only has USB C, and Logitech, as if somehow stuck in 2005, only makes a USB A receiver. I am using a small USB A to C adapter to get it to plug in. The mouse works, just can't edit the mouse settings without the stupid Logi Options+ software.

Need to change how the scroll wheel works, as out of the box it's horrible on Mac. Small scroll wheel movements do almost nothing (few pixels of scrolling) and larger movements scroll entire pages, no real range in between.

I've spent around 4 hours trying to get this all to work. Uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting, adding and removing permissions in privacy & security, etc.

Nothing has worked, including everything posted here.
