If the computer is very old: "Does Apple offer recycling?
Yes. Apple Trade In lets you recycle any Apple device (including devices from Apple-owned brands) at any Apple Store and on Apple for free. When we receive your device, it will be thoroughly inspected to determine if components can be recycled or reused. Thank you. That solved the problem. But I am unable to erase the user dat in my iMac because I cannot Strat up in recovery mode and am stuck at that point. I have been on the phone with support and they sent me all the documents but command - r does not boot into the recovery mode as it has in the past.
