Downloading to jpgs

I am trying to download photos from icloud and selected most compatible but they are still mov and heic and jpgs instead of all jpgs. how do I get them to be all jpgs? the mov ones were just taken in live mode

The "Most Compatible" option in Settings ➜ Camera applies to pictures taken after the option is set. It does not convert existing pictures from HEIC to JPG.


It does not apply to videos. MOV files are videos, so no possible way to download as a JPG which is a static picture.


Downloading them from iCloud does not change their format either. You can download them as HEIC and then use Preview or Photos on the Mac to export them as JPG.


For the MOV files, why do you need to convert them? If you need static pictures, you can use QuickTime or Photos to get a still from a frame in the video file.
