Garageband and Behringer Xenyx 1204USB Mixer with USB

I am replacing my Scarlett interface with

Behringer Xenyx 1204USB Mixer with USB. I have two channels plugged into the mixer; one is a mic and the other is a guitar. My MacMiniM2 sees two codecs and I can specify either as and record to either channel but it will not put each instrument on a separate channel like my Scarlett will do. (Scarlett gives me option to indicate both ...not so with mixer)

I must be missing something simple...can anyone help?

How do i plug in my scarlett focusrite and headphones to recird vocals in pro tools on my macbook pro? I dont see space for usb to connect I was working on a PC before to record and produce music. How do I connect my Scarlett focusrite and recording headphones to macbook pro? There do not seem to be any USB ports

Audio input for Logic X out of sync Logic 10.5 iMac 2015 4 core G7 Scarlett solo interface I record through the guitar input or the microphone; it sounds fine when I monitor it while playing but the recorded result runs just a little ahead of the rest of the tracks. I have tried all manner of settings including low-latency, but nothing works. I can manually adjust the track to slide it into place, but that's a pain, particularly if I want to punch in a revision. Midi input works fine. I've gone back to recording vocals and guitar tracks in a Garageband file, then opening it in Logic and editing the tracks there. It works but its a work-around. Clumsy and annoying. Does anyone even know what this problem is? Let alone how to correct it?
