2020 MBA M1 getting too hot to touch on left palm rest because of Google Chrome Helper (Renderer)

After running Chrome for 2-3 hrs on MacOS Ventura, the left palm rest on my 2020 MBA M1 gets uncomfortably hot to touch. The only way to cool it down is by shutting down Chrome. The culprit seems to be the Google Chrome Helper (Renderer) process, which is connected to active Chrome Extensions and is apparently consuming too many resources, especially AI Extensions like the ones related to ChatGPT. I need to use Chrome together with AI extensions frequently but without my MBA overheating. Any suggestions?

You would need to ask Google that question: Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support

Thx for the prompt response. My MBA does not shut down, just gets uncomfortably hot. There are just so many more Extensions available for Chrome than for any other browser. Is there any way to throttle Goggle Helpers from using so many resources, even if it means slower performance?

If your Mac does not shut down on its own, then it is not overheating.

Google and its many "helpers" is a notorious resource hog. If you are required to use Google Chrome, buy a Chromebook.
