Disabling background activity of an app in macOS

Hello all, I'm a music producer and in great need of a solution: I've recently installed the app "GoodNotes" on my Mac, and every 5 minutes, even when the app is closed, a process called "GoodNotes" starts in the background, . Because of poor optimisation, this causes a massive CPU spike and causes all of my audio to stop for a couple of seconds. Then, 5 seconds later, the process kills itself. Currently, my only option is to uninstall the app every time I want to make music or have a gig, and then reinstall it. I could make it way easier if there was any way in macOS to disable automatic launching of processes in the background. Do you know of a way?

If the app is listed under System Settings > General > Login Items > Allow in the Background. You can disable it.
