recently purchased music not appearing on my iphone

I have an iphone 14 pro max and all the music I have purchased ever since is no longer showing on my iphone. I tried syncing it with my itunes on my pc, I tried going to the itunes store app on my phone and I can see the songs there but when I tap the clound icon to download it, it turns back to the icon after a few seconds. This happened suddenly, when I turned my phone of and on again. Up until recently, I had a subscription with apple music. This subscription has recently ended and I am wondering if this the reason why this is happening. In any case, I purchased the songs, it wasn't just a case of creating playlists while the subscription was still on.

Any advice?

It sounds like you're having some difficulty with downloading songs you previously purchased after your Apple Music subscription ended. We can help.

Here is a great article you can check out to see how to Redownload music:

Redownload music in the iTunes Store app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

1. Open the iTunes Store app.

* On your iPhone or iPod touch: At the bottom of your screen, tap More , then tap Purchased.

* On your iPad: Tap Purchased.

4. Tap Music. If you use Family Sharing, tap a family member’s name to see music that they purchased.

5. Find the music that you want to redownload, then tap it.

6. Tap the download button next to a song or album.

Don't see the music that you purchased?

If you're still having trouble after that, you can connect with Apple directly using either Apple Support or if you're in a region without direct support options, you can also Contact Apple for support and service
