If you are sending as SMS group text this feature that you are referring to never existed. Even their responses are not visible to others.

All recipients will receive individual Texts and will not know who else has received them.

Types of group text messages

There are three types of group messages that you might see: group iMessage, group MMS, and group SMS. The Messages app automatically chooses the type of group message to send based on settings, network connection, and carrier plan. For example:

  • If you and your recipients are using Apple devices and iMessage is turned on, then the group message is sent as an iMessage. You need to activate iMessage
  • If you send a group message to people who aren't using iMessage, then the message is sent as an MMS or SMS message. You need to contact your Carrier to enable SMS and/or MMS.

All responses in a group SMS are sent as individual text messages and the recipients can’t see the other responses from the group.

Before installing the upgrade I could send text messages to a specified group of friends and everyone I sent the text to could see the text message, who was in it and everyone’s responses. Sending a text to the same group following the upgrade does not work the same way. The group text I sent is not seen by everyone and their responses come to me one at a time.
