Probably because there’s still something on that iphone that is tied to your Apple ID. Things like movies, tv shows and Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that download them and in the case of Apps, they will always require it to update.

I honestly don’t remember, he’s always just got my old phones, but he got a brand new one, and we thought it wouldn’t happen. Is there a way to see what apps are connected which your apple id on the actual phone?
