iPhone 3GS Charging Problem

When I try to charge the iPhone 3GS on a cable on the wall, it works until I unplug it to try and connect it to iTunes on my computer. But, when I plug it into my computer (even when my computer is plugged in too), it doesn't charge or even turn on!

Any suggestions?

iPhone only charges with usb-c I have an iPhone 12 that will only charge using a usb-c connection. The regular usb chargers used to work, but one day after my phone had updated, stopped working all together. This also means I cannot plug my phone into my computer to back up to iTunes without buying an adapter. I’ve tried cleaning the charging port, using a variety of other charging cables as well as different boxes they plug into. I’ve taken it to Verizon where I was told that it is in fact odd, but that they couldn’t help me with the issue at all other than to sell me a new charging cord and box with the usb-c for $50. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

iPhone only charges with USB C, doesn't work with old charger I'm able to charge my iPhone 12 with a USB C charger but when I try using USB A it doesn't work. I've tried multiple brand new USB A chargers, cleaned the charging port, and reset my phone. It's been very frustrating; does anyone have a solution to this?

iPhone won't charge or connect to my iMac Why does my iPhone XR not charge when connected to my iMac? It charges when connected to a wall charger with the same cable. When connected to my iMac, it makes a pulsating sound/vibration and slowly drains the battery. The device will not show up in iTunes. I cannot make a wired backup to my computer or load iTunes music, charge, etc. to my iPhone. I was having the same problem with my iPhone 7, but was able to eventually get it to work. The iPhone XR will not connect or charge at all.

You have an iPhone that is at least 12 years old. It's battery is shot.

No, at least not with an Apple battery. Apple considers it obsolete, partly because there are very few carriers left in the world that support the cellular network that it needs to use.
