It’s vague, because many people think of Apple Gift cards as Apple Card etc. A statement with greater clarity would be > I have a debit card in Apple Wallet that I use with Apple Pay <. Now I understand exactly and have an understanding of the basics.
I also see what you want in regard to card number
Apple Card MasterCard has 3 sets of numbers. The only number you have full access to is the 16 digit number on your mag strip.
You have limited access to the device number that is created when a device is added to Apple Wallet for your use on the Apple Pay network. You only have access to the last 4 digits. Apple only has limited access to part of the number too. The device number is stored on your device in the Secure Enclave chip.
The third number is the virtual number that’s used when you can’t swipe and can’t use Apple Pay. You have limited access to this number as well.
So, three different numbers with three different purchase scenarios. You have full access to only one set of numbers.
