disappearing photos
Why are my photos disappearing from my library? I did not delete them. Any clues?

That's hard for us to tell from here, as we are just other users and cannot see your computer or your library.
What can you tell us about your setup? Is your library only on your Mac, or is it connected to other devices like an iPhone or iPad? Do you share any of these devices or credentials with others?
Sometimes cases like this turn out to be explained by inadvertent sharing of devices or libraries or Apple IDs, or misunderstanding of how iCloud Photos syncs changes among devices.
