Security notifications for identical passwords on different domain extensions

Hello everyone,

I wanted to report an issue I've experienced with Apple's security notifications regarding the use of identical passwords on different websites. I've noticed that I often receive these notifications even when the websites in question have the same domain name but with different extensions (e.g. .com, .net, etc.).

Personally, I find this quite bothersome, as in many cases it's actually the same website but with a different domain extension. I think it would be helpful for users to be able to distinguish between different websites and websites with different extensions but the same name.

Do you also encounter this type of issue? Or is there a way to resolve it?

Thanks.

Those aren’t extensions. Those are the top level domains (TLD). That makes them as different as anything can be on the internet.

Websites would often masquerade as a legitimate site by changing only the TLD. I think ICANN has started preventing that from occurring, now.

It would be silly to not report using the same credentials on two websites that are identical except the TLD.
