iTunes

I have over 4,000 songs in my iTunes library. But, for whatever reason, only about half of the songs are being synced to my iPad. I have the latest updates on both, I have checked and rechecked everything, there are no songs with an "!" next to them, and I see no reason for what is happening. Any thoughts as to what could be preventing iTunes from syncing all my songs and playlists to my iPad?

See Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support and review your sync selections. Note that unchecked tracks are not normally synced.
