I just created an account but can't activate it on our Roku because I get a message "You must update your account to continue. To update your account, sign in on a device running iOs12 or late or go to appleid.apple.com

What a ridiculous, convoluted, overcomplex multistep process to do a few simple things. Fifteen minutes to get a Roku app up and running! Sheesh!

Did you go to appleid.apple.com, as instructed, sign in and edit/update the account information there?

An Apple ID account needs all the user information as asked, including name, DoB, country (state), a verified email address (respond to test message!), and a valid payment method.
Password is invalid need to reset password
