iPad trade in?

I have an IPad that charges but sometimes I need to plug in the cable a couple of times for it to start.

I’m probably going to buy a replacement as I think the cost for a port replacement would be too expensive.

I was told by one shop that the screen would have to be replaced too. I would think it wouldn’t be eligible for trade in as is. Is that a correct assumption?

Other than for recycling, Apple’s trade-in will not accept devices that not undamaged and fully functional.


The cost of repair will almost certainly be more expensive than the iPad trade-in value.
