Hey all! This may be a silly question but I have my iMessage set up to send & receive iMessages from my phone number and from my email addresses. I tested out sending an iMessage from my phone number to my email associated with my Apple ID. I assumed I would get the message in my email but it didn’t. Where do these messages go? Lol

Messages never go to email. When you use an email address in Messages, it’s treated as an Apple ID, which is simply a different way to address someone in iMessages instead of using a telephone number.
If Messages detects you’re sending a message to yourself, the message will not be sent.
