Hello 19DAC66!

If someone lost their iPhone and the "Find My" app is pointing to your address, it's possible that the lost iPhone is in close proximity to your house. However, it's important to note that the location accuracy of the "Find My" app can vary, especially if the lost iPhone is not connected to the internet or if it's in a remote area with poor GPS signal.

If you're being wrongly accused or harassed by someone due to this issue, you can try reaching out to the person who lost their iPhone and explain the situation to them. You can also report the issue to Apple Support and ask for their assistance in resolving the location issue.

In the meantime, you can also take steps to protect yourself, such as not sharing personal information with strangers, keeping your doors and windows locked, and contacting law enforcement if you feel threatened or harassed.

Please stay safe dood, update me when you can!

Wow that's rough to hear they didn't care too much..... I guess that's a good thing too if they didn't think it was that big of a deal, now at least you shouldn't feel in the hot seat. BUT If you feel that you're being wrongly accused or harassed due to the lost iPhone showing up at your address on the "Find My" app, there are a few other steps you can take:

  • Contact your local law enforcement agency and explain the situation to them. They may be able to help you by verifying your location and providing documentation to show that the lost iPhone is not at your address.
  • Report the issue to Apple again, and ask to speak with a supervisor or escalate the case. Explain the situation and provide any evidence you have to support your claim.

Let me know how I can help,

Why would i contact my local law enforcement to help me verify my location. I know where I am?

How would local law enforcement show the lost iphone is not at my address? Silly response.

I did ask to escalate the case when i was on the phone and that was a dead end. Was told there was no manager above him to escalate to. Again, the apple support was less than concerned that THEIR "find my friend" was pinging a target DIRECTLY on my house.

This guy left a "lost" note in my driveway, posted a sign on a stop sign down the street with the apple satellite picture that points on MY HOUSE, & posted on his facebook page and tried to "friend request" my wife.

Tell me what recourse i have with APPLE who cased this!

I dropped my iPhone in a marina during a kayak flipover and can't find it in the water. my "find my iPhone" shows its location at a specific street just over 1 mile from the location under water. it also has a time for that location as being about an hour before I lost it. I posted a photo on social media 30 minutes earlier than the time is showing for the address. I was at my home when I posted. I then drove to the marina and got on a kayak and tried to post another but it did not upload so I can't figure out the time, but for sure I likely drove right past the address that is showing on find my iPhone. it is showing the date and time I drove past. I lost the phone (but in the water) about an hour or two later. I had service when I was on the water and was looking at media and email but not posting until 5 minutes before the flip. so I know I had GPS and Cell service after I went past the address. I too googled the homeowner and called and left a message but never received a call back and never pursued it because I am pretty confident that the phone is either underwater or if it was found, not likely at the address that I drove by. I cant figure out why it shows that address. I can understand how the battery died and I had no cell or internet from the bottom of the shallow marina, but I dont understand why the find my iPhone app is showing an earlier time of a drive by in a residential neighborhood at a private home.

but that is probably similar to what is happening with your situation.

irrelevant. Apple should get involved because their app is falsely reporting a specific location of the iPhone. the app is not accurate at all, and by providing a specific address, it is beyond misleading. see my reply to the poster. the app is problematic. apple should help, explain, respond, and/or change the language on the app to be approximate or nearest cell tower or whatever is the explanation but the specific address on the app is wrong. and could lead to issues and confrontations and accusations.
