HomeKit/ Philips hue bridge not syncing

I cannot get my home kit & hue bridge to talk to each other. All I get when I enter the connection code on the bottom of the bridge is that it’s an incorrect code, and when I try to connect from the bridge via the button, it won’t find my HomeKit. I have tried reinstalling everything , have checked that both are on the same network.
